productivity=working
well. i have a full-time job. i start officially on monday. never did hear back about the NHK job. tis a shame. so anyways, i have quit the english teaching. (ended up liking that place way more than i expected, it was a little sad to leave) i am working at the production company full time. 8:30-6 pm with an hour for lunch. $2,400/month. i am office manager/production assistant/editorial apprentice. however, my most primary duty is answering the fone, and keeping the food stocked.
here are the things i like about the job in list form:
-everyone working there is fun and nice
-it's casual work environment, no need for khakis and button down shirts
-i'm learning new things every day
-it's a clean yet non-sterile work environment
-i have decent hours for a living wage
things i don't like:
-it's not so close to the home (approx 45 mins by bus+bike)
-they want me to buy a car (for the grocery shopping/errands/and what foolish fool doesn't own a car in la anyways)
i don't have some huge opposition to driving a car. but. i really don't want one. for the following reasons:
-gas money
-insurance money
-i can't see @ night
-money to buy the car itself
-parking
-traffic
last week i was hit by a car while riding a bike. this sucked to the extreme, but it really didnt change my mind about not wanting/wanting a car. nor did it change my mind about bike commuting.

Wicked.
I knew that studio job could pan out into something better and full-time.
Awesome to hear that you have a *cool* job and you`re making almost as much money as we are here.
I expect presents in the mail.

Congrats. Don't get a car, though. Tell them if they want you to have a car they can buy it and keep it at the office so that you can run errands. Hell, if they complain about that raise the issue that you feel they are making you do the shopping based on gender and that it makes you uncomfortable (even if you work with all females). Cars are a pain in the ass especially if you don't want one.
My tummy is growling.
