i'm telling you right now:
my scooter is my life.
i couldn't recommend it enough.
i only got the "poor man's vespa" (my sweet sweet giorno) but dude, that thing is AMAZING. costs me about 4 bucks to fill up and takes me everywhere with my ipod blowing along with my hair and the mountains and the sea ... and all on the left side of the road.
i tried jogging today for the first time in almost a year.
whew.
DUDE GET THE VESPA.

Dude....DON'T GET A SCOOTER!! I've had them and loved them too. And they are fine for lots of people! But, I gotta be honest, I don't think a scooter would be advisable for you. I love you to death....BUT driving with you was one of my scariest experiences in Japan! :)

I'm ditching the car I borrowed from home, and opting for the faster bike. Food is cheaper than gas AND I get to snack more. Sweet!
Congrats on the job, it sounds like you're in a pretty good environment.
